The HRR688 ECU is a computer controlled EPROM type system, the chip is programed to maximize output with the Pertronix 40011 Coil. We wrote the program and burn each chip in house to give you the best ECU/Coil performance possible. This system will deliver 44KV on demand up to 7,000 RPM and not retard the timing or drop output. The EPROM programing works similar to the dwell in a points system and sets the recharge time for the coil between the trigger signals from the distributor, that recharge time is known as the soak time of the coil and it determines the availability of voltage going to the plug.Our system uses full 12V power, so it makes common sense that the more power you deliver to the coil, the higher quality coil, the more voltage being delivered to it and the legnth of time it has to absorb that energy determine the output. We're not going to make any unsubstantiated bogus claims on massive HP like some of our competitors as no ignition will ever add HP. It will however unleash the potential power of the engine and maintain it throughout the RPM Range with no retarding of the timing, constant maximum output and without any exclusions it is the most reliable and powerful plug and play ignition system you can bolt into your Mopar. Claims of HP gains are simply a result of replacing inadequate components with modern technology and correctly tuning the timing events to the application, it's simple logic something some of our competitors just don't understand. The HRR688 SLEW rate (the time it takes for the spark to reach the spark plug after the signal to fire has been sent from the distributor pick-up coil) is 100X faster than any old transistor type ECU. Transistors are slow and in modern electronics are no longer used because of this. It's 1960's technology and we've come a long way in last 60 years.
